Description
English: A Guardsman of the 1st Battalion The Welsh Guards stands in fron of the Regimental Colours during a medal parade following their return from deployment overseas.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales today welcomed home members of 1st Battalion The Welsh Guards after their recent Afghanistan tour.

The Prince of Wales, who is Colonel The Welsh Guards, visited the Battalion at Cavalry Barracks, Hounslow, to present Operational Service Medals and meet Battalion members and their families.

Some 350 members of the Battalion were lined up on parade to be greeted by their Colonel, who gave an address to welcome them home and congratulate them on their achievements on Operation Herrick.

The Battalion served in Afghanistan from March Ð October 2012, carrying out a breadth of duties in various locations.
