Provenance:

  • Déposé à Paris, Palais de l'Elysée, arrêté du 30 juillet 1947
  • Rentré au Louvre (Service du Récolement des Dépôts, Musée du Louvre)
  • Il est probable que le pastel était conservé au château de Versailles avant la Révolution. Sans doute faut-il le reconnaître dans le portrait de la reine de Pologne, épouse de Stanislas, que François Lauzan classe sous le numéro 6 et le nom de La Tour le 10 juin 1823 dans l'État des pastels, peintures sur verre, gouaches, miniatures, aquarelles et dessins montés sous verre, placés dans les palais de Versailles et de Trianon et dans les dépôts (A.N., cote 20150040/14,anciennement V3).
  • L'œuvre est alors conservée au Grand Trianon. Toujours comme de La Tour et comme l'effigie de la reine de Pologne,elle est inscrite en 1832 sur l'inventaire général des musées royaux sous le numéro 26507 (A.N., 1 DD 97, p. 1980)
  • Encore signalée en 1832 au Grand Trianon, elle rejoint le musée du Louvre après cette date
  • Elle est déposée au palais de l'Élysée de 1947 (arrêté du 30 juillet) à 1959
  • Restauré en 2012, grâce au soutien de la Stockman Family Foundation, avec la collaboration des American Friends of the Louvre (décadrage, dépoussiérage de la feuille de protection du châssis,consolidation des déchirures et des angles, ré encadrement dans un cadre emboîtant).
