Summary[edit]

Description
English: The crew of HMS Lancaster take part in an F5 exercise which includes damage control and firefighting.

On Thursday 18th March 2021, HMS Lancaster took part in an F5 exercise whilst on maritime patrols off the coast of Scotland.

The exercise simulates multiple incidents occuring on board a ship caused for example by a collision.

In this scenario the ship's company had to deal with two fires and two contaminated floods along with power loss in some compartments and a casualty that needed a simulated evacuation off the ship otherwise known as a CASEVAC.

The exercise tests the ship's company to their limits mentally and physically but is a scenario that needs acting out to ensure all personnel know the protocols and requirements needed during such an incident.
