Continental coins:

In 1469, following an agreement made between Edward IV and Charles the Bold, these coins were made legal tender in England and remained so for over 60. The metal is not quite sterling value, so although they were the same size as an English groat, they may have passed for a little less than four pence. They presumably finally disappeared during the Henrician debasements of the early 1540s.
