Description
Deutsch: Hagen-Mitte, Elberfelder Straße 30. Stolpersteine für Otto David Sachs (21.08.1884–21.05.1943), Ella Sachs geb. Süssmann (10.10.1890–21.05.1943), Otto Löwenstein (*01.05.1883), Ruth Löwenstein (*09.05.1922) und Emma Friederieke Löwenstein geb. Stern (*22.01.1894). – Familie Sachs besaß das Damenhutgeschäft „Lichtenhagen Nachfolger“ Elberfelder Straße 30. Während der antisemitischen Aktionen und Boykottaufrufe wurden mehrfach ihre Schaufenster eingeschlagen oder Fotos von Kunden gemacht die ihr Geschäft betreten wollten. Als sie es aufgeben mussten und arisiert an die Fa. Jürgens kam, gingen Otto und Ella Sachs mit ihren Töchtern 1936 nach Holland in den Untergrund, wurden dort aber im Mai 1943 von einem Holländer gegen eine Belohnung von 3000 Gulden an die Deutschen verraten und anschließend im Vernichtungslager Sobibor vergast. Die Töchter Hannelore (*23.01.1922) und Marianne Sachs (*24.11.1924) konnten versteckt in Holland bleiben und 1949 durch einen Onkel in die USA auswandern. – Die Töchter von Otto und Emma Löwenstein, Ilse und Marion, konnten 1939 nach England entkommen.
