Summary[edit]

Description
English: The only thing said by the presenter in this video is "Russian aircraft, English pilot, American engine ... a good combination!" but if you're doing research on this aircraft it is just enough to lead you to a pretty surprising fact: Knowing that it has an American engine, you'll find this "World War II fighter" was actually built in the 1990s! Nevertheless it is a real Yakovlev. Following a request by the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica (USA) in 1991 Yakovlev built a small series of those, called Yak-3UA. The aircraft shown here is registered as D-FYGJ, based in Bremgarten (Germany) and owned by Stephen Stead from the UK.
