Title |
Harness decoration |
||
Description |
English: A harness decoration made from copper-alloy sheeting, which has been cut and turned over in three places to form a housing for a long pin, thus creating a hinge for the fixing of three cast copper-alloy pieces shaped like a bell's clapper. Between these three small clapper-shaped pieces there are two spaces where most likely hung a plate which created a sound when the movement of the horse allowed the clappers to strike the plate. Although the bar has suffered some damage at one end it is nearly complete with a large amount of the original gilding remaining. The mount is holed three times for fixing to the harness via rivets, which are missing. Measurements: 12.7 mm x 39.4 mm; length of projections 15.7 mm. |
