Harness stud: Castile Leon arms
Description
English: A copper alloy harness stud with a shield-shaped terminal; substantial length of pin remains. Very little enamel remains but the arms can be seen clearly, incised into the terminal. Arms displayed are those of the mediaeval Kingdom of Castile and León, on the Iberian peninsula: "quarterly, 1st and 4th, gules, a castle triple-towered or, 2nd and 4th, argent, a lion rampant gules". Measurements: 15.1 mm wide, pin 34 mm long.
