[edit]DescriptionHawker Hunter T.7 ‘XX467 86’ (G-TVII) (50324310301).jpg |
c/n 41H-693834 Built 1958 as a standard Hunter T.7 with the British military serial XL605. Sold back to Hawker Siddeley in April 1966 and converted to a T.70. Flew with British test registration G-9-214 before being delivered to the Royal Saudi Air Force in June 1966 where she served with the serial 70-617. She was transferred to the Royal Jordanian Air Force in June 1968, becoming ‘836’, and then returned to the RAF in May 1972. Instead of taking up her old serial of XL605 she was allocated a new serial, XX467. Retired and sold off in October 1987, she became G-TVII on the British civil register in December 1997 but never flew as such and remained stored at Exeter. She was moved to Bruntingthorpe in June 2011 and then to Newark in May 2017. A well travelled machine, she is now a permanent part of the museum and will no doubt be repainted in due course.
