English: Pictured: steam tug Hercules (far right) towing the USS California (BB-44) on November 29, 1920. The California is being towed from Mare Island Navy Yard to Hunter's Point for additional work before joining the active fleet. Hercules wasn't actually towing the vessel alone. She was just the largest tug involved and, with a displacement of 32,300 tons, the California was the largest vessel she was ever involved in towing.
