Blanc 46 Opschriften / Merken: verzamelaarsmerk, verso, gestempeld: Lugt 2228verzamelaarsmerk, verso, gestempeld: Lugt 2760 Omschrijving: Francesco Algarotti (1712-1764) was kunstmecenas en opdrachtgever, wetenschapper en theoreticus. Toen hij ziek was en zijn dood voelde naderen, gaf hij zijn vriend Mauro Tesi de opdracht om een grafmonument voor hem te ontwerpen. De architect Carlo Bianconi werd gevraagd het ontwerp uit te voeren. Het werd opgericht in het Camposanto in Pisa waar het zich nog steeds bevindt. Op de prent wordt het bewonderd door een gezelschap dames en heren. Op de trappen van het monument een bedelaar.
