Description
Deutsch: Naturschutzgebiet „Steltenberg“ im Hagener Stadtteil Hohenlimburg. Es handelt sich um die westlich an den Steinbruch der Hohenlimburger Kalkwerke angrenzenden Bereiche, die überwiegend aus Mischwaldkomplexen, kleine Siepen mit Hochstaudenfluren und Stillgewässern bestehen. Insbesondere im Bereich unterhalb des Möllerdenkmals erfüllt der Wald Bodenschutzfunktion (links). Am Steilhang zur Lenne (Mitte bis rechts) befinden sich mehrere geologische und auch archäologisch bedeutsame Höhlen, z.B. die Oeger Höhle (39 m), Dr.-Wolf-Höhle (161 m) und Seegrotte (159 m). Auf dem Foto sieht man in der Mitte vor der Siedlung „Auf der Heide“ den 1967 stillgelegten Kalksteinbruch „Rolloch I“ der Hohenlimburger Kalkwerke. Dort wurde das gewonnene Gestein einst auf Loren verladen und zur Aufbereitung mit einer Kleinbahn zum Oeger Werksgelände transportiert.
