Summary[edit]

Description
English: Dog skull (Canis lupus familiaris) from the outlying land of Bergsgården, Gökhem parish, Vilske hundred, Falköping municipality, former Skaraborg county, Västergötland, Sweden. A dog skeleton was found together with bones from a young woman when ditching the former bog just across the road at Dammeslätt at the outlying land of Bergsgården. The woman is radiocarbon dated to the transition between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, so one can assume the dog to be of similar age, i.e. around 2500 years old. The dog was probably of ordinary spitz type and had a height of circa 50-55 cm.
Objektpositionen nedan avser fyndplatsen.
