Description Gay Pride weekend is over and this year was a marvelous success. It is estimated that some 100.000 people (1/3 of Iceland´s population) came to see the Saturday parade and the gay pride outdoor concert in Reykjavik´s city center. That makes it the biggest gay pride ever held in the world´s northernmost capital. The mayor of Reykjavik, Mr. Jón Gnarr did his part by dressing up and lead the colorful parade but the city of Reykjavik has been an active supporter of the event through the years.
