| Description |
English: A Midtown Manhattan-bound X24 express bus of Academy Bus traveling west on Hylan Boulevard at New Dorp Lane in New Dorp, Staten Island. The route in its current state is somewhat bizarre. This section of the route (which begins just west of here at Tysens Lane) runs in the opposite direction of all the MTA-operated routes, meaning that passengers would have to risk missing all of those buses in order to use this route. After traveling west a good distance past Eltingville to Arden Avenue in Annadale, the route turns north and runs on the majority of that road, then switches to the northern stretch of Huguenot Avenue, then finally runs to Manhattan. As part of the reorganization of new routes on Sunday August 19th, the X23 and X24 will be streamlined, with the X24 exclusively running on Huguenot Avenue, and the X23 on Arden Avenue. The Hylan Boulevard route will be eliminated. |
