Description

"Hoje dedicada a Nª Sra. da Conceição, a Igreja Matriz de Santa Maria foi totalmente reconstruída no início do 2º terço do séc. XVI. Possui portal gótico, protegido por um curioso pórtico encimado por torre sineira. No interior possui nártex, três naves e três tramos, com uma capela-mor de cúpula semi-esférica e retábulo do tipo barroco-salomónico em talha dourada. No evangelho e na epístola existem frescos renascentistas, de autoria atribuída a Diogo Fernandez".
