O maior expoente do património edificado da freguesia de São João Baptista de Lobrigos é a Igreja Matriz. A fachada principal deste templo é constituída por uma robusta torre sineira, na qual se abre uma galilé. O interior é de uma nave com capela-mor. No tecto, os caixotões apresentam pinturas de motivos hagiológicos e cristológicos. É um templo maravilhoso, profusamente decorado com talha barroca, no altar, no arco triunfal, nas molduras dos caixotões e dos quadros, no coro alto e nos espaldares dos confessionários. Esta Igreja paroquial de Lobrigos é classificada como I.I.P. – Imóvel de Interesse Público – assim declarada pelo Decreto N.º 47508 de 24-1-1967. Acerca desta igreja diz Correia de Azevedo no seu "Património Artístico da Região Duriense": "Arquitectonicamente, a Igreja de Lobrigos apenas difere das outras igrejas do género pela sua torre, de remate estilo oriental, formando na base uma galilé. Segundo a inscrição de um túmulo existente na capela-mor, com data de 1638 e uma outra existente na sacristia – 1728, esta igreja deve ter sido construída parte no século XVII e parte no século XVIII.
