Igreja paroquial de Beja com traça primitiva do período gótico, mas com profundas obras de remodelação e de decoração a partir do século XVI. Integrando uma das quatro igrejas paroquiais de Beja, alguns autores consideram que a de Salvador deveria existir antes de 1300, sendo, consequentemente, a sua traça primitiva do período gótico. Foi erigida nos limites da antiga mouraria, devendo-lhe ter cabido, por isso, importante papel de evangelização da população não cristã de Beja. Sofreu profundas obras de remodelação e de decoração a partir do século XVI, remontando a este período os elementos mais antigos que hoje observamos. Com o restauro da diocese de Beja, em 1770, o primeiro prelado, frei Manuel do Cenáculo, consagrou a igreja do Salvador como catedral, função que manteve até 1922. <a href="https://cm-beja.pt/pt/menu/570/igreja-do-salvador.aspx" rel="noreferrer nofollow">cm-beja.pt/pt/menu/570/igreja-do-salvador.aspx</a> |
