Description |
English: An incomplete copper-alloy double oval buckle of probable mid 16th to mid 17th century AD date. The left hand side of the frame (as you look at it) is intact and has a convex outer edge which is decorated with four moulded lobes. The central axis bar is of hemispherical section and terminates at the top and bottom with a projecting lug. Only a small portion of the right hand side of the frame remains. The object is bent and corroded. It measures 18.4mm long by 23.5mm high and 2.4mm thick. It weighs 2.5g. |
