Summary[edit]

Description
English: Very high magnification micrograph of intestinal spirochetosis, also intestinal spirochetes, (more specifically) colonic spirochetosis, colonic spirochetes, rectal spirochetosis, rectal spirochetes. H&E stain.

There is a hyperchromatic fuzz on the luminal aspect of the epithelial cells - at the brush border. This is a subtle finding that may be missed, especially at low power.
