English: One of the many engines used by the IRR. The railroad has wide assortment of German, Italian and Portuguese engines. Coalition Joint Task Force 7 provides funds and oversight, as the Iraqi run railway rebuilds and maintains its infrastructure, Nov. 12, 2003. The Iraqi Republican Rail lines, originally started in the 1910s, provide transportation for cargo and passengers to over 100 rail stations throughout Iraq. Construction on the Baghdad Central Railway Station was started in 1924 and finally completed in 1954 by the British. |
