Italiano: Istanbul: l'obelisco cosiddetto "di Teodosio" (in realtà antico egizio, eretto in origine da Tutmosi III) che fungeva da meta nell'immenso ippodromo costruito dagli imperatori romani e bizantini. Fu eretto nel 390 d.C., e l'impresa fu giudicata di tale rilievo che le fasi dell'erezione dell'immenso monolito sono illustrate nel piedistallo su cui è montato. English: Istanbul: the so-called "Theodosius" obelisk (actually ancient Egyptian, originally erected by Tutmosi III) that served as a destination in the immense racecourse built by the Roman and Byzantine emperors. It was erected in 390 AD, and the enterprise was judged of such importance that the phases of the erection of the immense monolith are illustrated in the pedestal on which it is mounted.
