Español: Por qué es difícil medir con precisión el efecto Doppler transversal utilizando un haz transversal. La ilustración muestra los resultados de intentar medir la línea de 4861 Angstrom emitida por un haz de "rayos canales" (una mezcla de H1+, H2< /sub>+ y H3+) a medida que se recombinan con electrones extraídos del gas hidrógeno diluido utilizado para llenar el tubo de descarga.
