Deutsch: Richtung Nordwest, der Knick im Brückenzug entstand nicht aus militärischen Gründen, sondern durch die weitgehende Wiederverwendung vorhandener Teile des spätrömischen Bauwerkes, das bei einem Erdbeben eingestürzt war. Die seldschukische Brücke ist nicht nur gut vier Meter niedriger als der Vorgängerbau, die Fahrbahnbreite ist auch auf etwa die Hälfte reduziert. Die Spitzbögen gab es beim Vorgängerbau nicht, die Römer verwendeten Rundbögen. |
