| Description |
Deutsch: Richtung Norden, die Bahnsteige wurden beim Bau überdeckelt, damit die S-Bahn-Strecke nicht das Zentrum von Halle-Neustadt zerschneidet. Die ungewöhnlich langen Bahnsteige wurden für die Berufsverkehrszüge der Chemiebetriebe zwischen Halle und Merseburg angelegt. Die Fahrleitung wurde in kurzen Abständen an der Tunneldecke aufgehängt, prinzipiell besser geeignete Deckenstromschienen standen zur Bauzeit Ende der 1960er Jahre noch nicht zur Verfügung. Zur Vereinfachung der Unterhaltung wurde das nördliche Drittel der Bahnsteige abgetrennt. Die planmäßig verkehrenden Züge nutzen auch die noch nutzbare Bahnsteiglänge bei weitem nicht aus. |
