English: The Joint European Torus, JET, is the largest and most powerful magnetic fusion experiment in the world. The computer generated picture shows the vacuum vessel (dark grey in the centre) in which the fusion reactions are produced, surrounded by the magnetic coils that control the hot plasma. The orange coloured iron transformer core induces electric current into the plasma, the Turbo Pump station is shown in blue. |
