Josef Hasil (* 8 February 1924 in Zábrdí near Prachatice, Czechoslovakia) was a former Šumava (Bohemian Forest) smuggler and later an agent of the American intelligence service (CIC).

Čeština: Josef Hasil (* 8. února 1924 v Zábrdí u Prachatic) byl bývalý šumavský převaděč a později agent americké zpravodajské služby CIC (kontrašpionážní sbor). Pro své schopnosti a svou nepolapitelnost byl označovaný jako „Král Šumavy“ (dle označení Státní bezpečnosti). Na fotografii před rokem 1949 jako příslušník Sboru národní bezpečnosti (SNB) sloužící u pohraničního útvaru Zvonková. Foto: Archiv bezpečnostních složek ČR, Historický fond (H), H-301.
English: Josef Hasil (* 8 February 1924 in Zábrdí near Prachatice, Czechoslovakia) was a former Šumava (Bohemian Forest) smuggler and later an agent of the American intelligence service CIC (Counterintelligence Corps). For his abilities and elusiveness he was referred to as "King of the Bohemian Forest" (according to the „official“ designation of the State Security). In the photo (before year 1949) there is Josef Hasil as a member of the National Security Corps (SNB) serving at the border unit „Zvonková“.
