Description
English: A U.S. Navy Grumman F-14A Tomcat from Fighter Squadron 84 (VF-84) "Jolly Rogers", foreground, and a Tomcat of VF-41 "Black Aces", center, stand by as a second VF-84 Tomcat receives fuel from a U.S. Air Force Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker over Turkey during Operation Provide Comfort, a multinational effort to aid Kurdish refugees in southern Turkey and northern Iraq, 28 April 1991. VF-41 and VF-84 were assigned to Carrier Air Wing 8 (CVW-8) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) for a deployment to the 1991 Gulf War from 28 December 1990 to 28 June 1991.
