KENT-00E011. Early Medieval copper alloy buckle tongue (front).
Description
English: Early Anglo-Saxon silver plated copper alloy shield-on-tongue buckle tongue. The front of the shield-on-tongue plate is recessed, and may have acted as a setting for some type of inlay. Remains of an iron attachment loop on reverse. Buckles with tongues of this type date from the mid-6th to mid-7th century AD.
