KENT-8EA889: Roman steelyard weight
Description
English: A complete Roman lead alloy steelyard weight, of proable c. AD 43-410 date. The weight is biconical in form, although it is slightly irregular. There is an iron attachement lug at one end of the weight. It measures 30.5mm in height, 49.1mm in maximum diameter and weighs 164.20grams. Many similar examples have been found on the PAS database; for example IOW-5D2D47 and HAMP-2D7A82
