Description

Kairouan III Oeuvre d'August Macke (1887-1914) 1914 Aquarelle LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur, Westfälisches Landesmuseum Münster

En avril 1914, les peintres Paul Klee, August Macke et Louis Moilliet ont entrepris un voyage en Tunisie qui a durablement influencé leur oeuvre. L'exposition présente deux oeuvres d'August Macke à coté d'une de Paul Klee, toutes créées à l'issue de ce voyage. La couleur y tient une place centrale, le style des oeuvres produites est inspiré par l'orphisme mais également par le cubisme.
