Description
English: 1350-1650. Copper alloy, cast, double oval loop or spectacle buckle. Length 26.3mm, Width 23.9mm, Thickness 3.9mm, Weight 4.1g. Plain figure-of-eight shape frame with bevelled inside and ouside edges but flat back. Traces of silver/tinned surface and rusty stain left from an iron tongue. Little corrosion with dark grey patina. Ref: Buckles 1250-1800, Ross Whitehead, Greenlight Publishing 1996, page 53, No. 294.
