An der nord-östlichen Ecke des Naturschutzgebietes Am Riedert steht südlich des Weges in einer Höhe von etwa 714 Metern ein Stein aus Granit, auf dem unter einem eingerillten Kreuz „L. Kropp a. 29. Juni 1878“ eingemeiselt ist. Der „Brotmannstein“ erinnert an einen Bäcker aus Carlsfeld, der hier beraubt und getötet wurde. In Kartenblatt 145-Section Eibenstock der Topographischen Karte (Äquidistantenkarte) von 1911 ist der Stein als Denkmal mit der Bezeichnung „Krapps Denkmal“ eingetragen. (Karte im Maßstab 1:25.000 in der Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden Link zur Karte bei deutschefotothek.de Erläuterung auf der Webseite Kreuzstein.de [1]: “Eibenstock, südwestl. des Ortes im NSG Riedert, an alter Wegführung über Torfhaus nach Carlsfeld und Rautenkranz, ‘Brotmannstein’. Obertägige Maße: Höhe 0,70 m, Br. 0,25, T. 0,23, die recht flüchtig gearbeitete, oben gerundete Steinstele aus Granit zeigt die eingerillte dreizeilige, unterstrichene Inschrift: ‘L. Kropp / a. 29. Juni / 1878’ darüber ein kleines gleicharmiges Kreuz; der derzeitige Förster vom Neuen Wiesenhaus H. Unger berichtet (2009): ‘der Carlsfelder Bäckermeister Kropp war hier unterwegs, um seine Brote auszuliefern, als er von Räubern beraubt und getötet wurde’.” |
