English: Brush (Fude): Ono no Tôfû, from the series The Four Friends of the Writing Desk for the Ichiyô Circle (Ichiyôren bunbô shiyû)
Nederlands: De staatsman en kalligraaf Ono no Tôfû, of Michikaze (894-966) staat bij een rood gelakte tafel. In de traditie van kalligrafie is Tôfû het meest gewaardeerd voor zijn ontwikkeling van Chinese karakters in Japanse stijl. Deze prent is een kopie uit de Meiji periode (1868-1912) en mist de titels op de prent. Met drie gedichten in plaats van twee gedichten in het origineel.
