Title |
LEIC-660A81: Medieval vessel |
||
Description |
English: A sherd from a late Medieval purple ware vessel. The fabric is extremely hard and tempered with plentiful well sorted rounded quartz (<1mm), large shelly fragments (<4mm) and occasional fine mica. Both surfaces are light red-brown in colour, the inner margins are slightly lighter brown, whilst the inner core is dark grey. The sherd has a straight edge and so may either be from a very large vessel or from a roofing tile.
Length: 37.0mm, width: 31.9mm, thickness: 28.0mm, weight: 12.51g |
