Summary[edit]

Description
English: La Roche-Cotard original and illustration of depicted mother bear, her cub, a feline, hyenas and the carcasses of an antelope and cervid in a winter den. The artistic style and theme are common in Homo sapiens Franco-Iberian Upper Paleolithic cave art. If dated properly, this La Roche-Cotard image may be among the oldest known Homo sapiens cave art and not of Neanderthals.
