Description
Central India. Lakulisha or the Lord with a Club was a prominent teacher and founder of Pashuapata, one of the early sects os Shaivism. Here he is standing on ignorance, represented as a human figure. Beside him are two personifications of Shiva's trident, the god's main symbols. Lakulisha lived in western India around 200 AD. He is believed to be the founder of Yoga and an incarnation of Shiva.
