Description
English: At a news conference in Washington, Senator Alexander joins Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut to introduce the U.S.-China Cultural Engagement Act as a step to improve relations between the two nations. The bill provides for Chinese language instruction in American schools, authorizes an increase of American consular activity supporting American commercial activity in China and provides for physical and virtual exchanges among a broad spectrum of individuals in the two nations.
