Christus vertelt de gelijkenis van de Barmhartige Samaritaan als antwoord op een vraag van een toehoorder hoe hij moest bepalen wie zijn naaste was. De gelijkenis is daarboven afgebeeld. De Samaritaan verzorgt de verwondingen van een beroofde man, terwijl een priester en een Leviet de man voorbijgelopen zijn. Op de achtergrond rechts arriveren de Samaritaan en de gewonde man bij de herberg (Luc. 10:29). Rechtsonder het nummer dat de prent in een eerdere uitgave had: 81. De prent maakt deel uit van een album.
