Late 17th-early 18th century shoe or knee buckle.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle, with drilled frame to take the seperate & missing spindle, c.1660-1720. Moulded pin-rests on both outer edges with flanking moulded lines, bifid sides with scrolled knops around spindle holes. Iron staining around spindle holes. Reverse undecorated. Length 36.82mm, width 22.56mm, thickness 4.9mm, weight 6.55g.
