Description
English: Title: Le due cucine

Abstract: Italian political cartoon shows an interior view of a large room divided into two kitchens, the "Cucina Inglese" on the left and the "Cucina Russa" on the right; the British chef, tasting one dish labeled "Marina al Bosforo", exclaims "Yes, è malto piccante!" and the Russian chef, stirring a dish labeled "Trattato Santo Stefano", exclaims "Sapristi! è malto salato." The British chef is being assisted by two men, one labeled "Greco" and the other labeled "Romen", they are holding bottles of various ingredients; there are several pans on the stove labeled "Russa Salsa Piccante", "Ragout Indiano", and "Corvette Alla Turpedine. The Russian chef is being assisted by two men as well, one labeled "Serbia" holding a bottle of "Vecchia Serbia" and the other is Otto von Bismarck labeled "Prussian" holding a container of "Sale Politico"; there are also several pans on the stove labeled "Pirati", "Suppa Rustscio", and "Spezzata Alar Rumena", and a glowing oven labeled "Esercito Dei Balkani". In the background, at center, standing at the entrance to the kitchens are two men, on the left, representing Austria, is a man holding sausage labeled "Saucisson Tirolese" and bread labeled "Pane Triestino", he asks the other man in which kitchen shall they dine; the other man, standing on the right, representing Italy (possibly Victor Emmanuel II), suggests that he would rather eat the bread and sausage.
