Description
English: Lead Roman steelyard weight. The weight is circular in plan and roughly biconical in section. The iron suspension loop is now missing, but there are the remains of iron or iron corrosion at the apex of one side where the loop was positioned. The lead is now beige or light brown in colour and the surface heavily pitted and abraded. The weight is 21.38mm long, 25.92mm in diameter and weighs 2.04 ounces or 57.90g.
