Title
Leaf-shaped mount
Description
English: Copper alloy cast mount. The mount is shaped like a leaf and has cast decoration on the front surface to give the effect of veins on the leaf. At the top of the mount there is a (broken) small protruding lobe through which a rivet would have been fixed. At the other tip of the mount there is a collar then another protrusion – probably a hook – which curves forward but is broken off. On the reverse there is an integrally cast copper alloy rivet around which are corroded iron deposits. The exact function is unclear. The mount weighs 11.66g and measures 39.4mm in length, 22.7mm in width and 5.6mm in thickness.
