Deutsch: Eine Leiter wird an eine Hauswand angelehnt. Das kleine x steht für die Entfernung des Leiterfußes von der Hauswand. Das kleine y steht für die Höhe des Anlehnpunktes der Leiter über dem Boden. Eine Funktionale Beziehung y=f(x) zwischen x und y ergibt sich über mit die Länge der Leiter (hier etwa 14 cm) mit dem dem Satz des Pythagoras. Die explizit nach y umgestellte Funktionsgleichung ergibt dann eine Wurzelfunktion.
Die gemessenen Werte weichen mehr oder minder stark von den idealisierten Werten der Funktionsgleichung ab. Die Grundidee ist es, Experimente zu tieferen Konzepten der Mathematik und Physik zu entwickeln, die mit möglich einfachen Haushaltsmitteln ohne fremde Hilfe nachgestellt werden können. Eine noch simplere Variante dieses Versuches wäre es, den Boden und die Hauswand einfach auf ein Blatt Papier zu skizzieren. Ein dünner Stift könnte dann die Rolle der Leiter spielen.English: A very simplistic experiment to demontrate the practical meaning of x and y as changes of values.
A ladder is set up against the wall of a house. The ground, the wall and the ladder then form a right triangle. With x as the distance of the ladder from the wall measured on the ground and y the height of the upper part of the ladder where it touches the wall, one can build a mathematical function y=f(x). A yet more simple version of this experiment would be a drawing of the ground and the wall on a piece of paper with a pencil as a ladder. |
