English: Presentation slides for Wikimania 2023 Title: Lessons from the Organizer Lab. How should we train the next generation of campaign organizers in the Wikimedia Movement This will include 10-15 minutes of explaining how we implemented the course and then 10-15 minutes for experiences from participants who graduated from the course, including those that got grants as part of the program. Our goal was to provide organizers with the building blocks for designing new campaigns that fill key knowledge gaps and address the Movement Strategy Topics for Impact campaign. To learn more about the lab, see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Campaigns/Organizer_Lab In the second half of the session (20-30 minutes) we want to collect feedback from participants in a collaborative online tool about the skills and kinds of knowledge they would like to have for organizing outreach and other kinds of tactics around campaign programs. The Campaign Programs team at the Wikimedia Foundation would like to continue decentralizing the skills and capacities important to effective campaigns within the movement. Through this part of the session we would like to learn a) what kinds of trainings like the Organizer Lab, and b) how we should disseminate other skills and resources (like our recent sessions on List Building and PetScan in the #WikiForHumanRights Campaign). |
