Summary
[edit]DescriptionLogitech Harmony One, universal remote control for a great variety of electronic devices, from c. 2009 (cut out from larger image).jpg |
English: Disclaimer first: While this product is really neat (own experience), the manufacturer for some reason discontinued it in 2021. If interested, research yourself if buying a used one makes any sense. A Logitech Harmony One universal remote control unit from c. 2009. The manufacturer made sure by a variety of different technical measures that one can control nearly every technical device available - which must have a built-in infrared (IR) remote control ability, of course. If the device to be controlled by the Logitech is really exotic or old (and thus its infrared remote codes are not in the database of Logitech), one can "hand program" it in the Logitech by one-by-one activating the relevant keys on the respective remote control, while telling the Logitech each time which function name on which device this was. Once the user has invested some hours for the setup (depending mainly on the number of AV receivers, TV sets, DVD players etc. which shall be controlled with this device), he/she can put the usual collection of previously used remote control units permanently into the cupboard/closet/drawer. |
