Description
Deutsch: Lokomotive der Münchner Post-U-Bahn, 1910 gebaut von den Siemens-Schuckert-Werken (Berlin) und Kraus (München). Die führerlose Elektrolok (Drehstrom 155 V, 50 Hz, Leistung 2,2 kW, Höchstgeschwindigkeit 12 km/h), wurde von 1910 bis 1966 für Deutschlands einzige Post-U-Bahn verwendet. Der Tunnel führte vom Hauptbahnhof München bis zur 450 Meter entfernten sogenannten Hopfenpost (Postamt München 2) in der Hopfenstraße (Maxvorstadt) und retour. Im Jahr 1988 wurde der Betrieb eingestellt. Ähnliche Systeme gab es in London (1927-2004) und Zürich (1938-1981). Exponat im Deutschen Museum Verkehrszentrum, Halle I (Inv.-Nr. 77068)
