Summary

[edit]
Description
English: London - Kew Gardens (the Royal Botanic Gardens and visitor centres, with remains of Kew Palace) - ICE Photocompilation Viewing from South to NNE on Thames, Syon House 1769 & Syon Park. His Grace, the Duke of Northumberland, has his London home and visitor grounds (including a Hilton Hotel and upmarket garden centre with café) on what was for some centuries an Abbey, none of which stands. His family, the Percys were prodigious knights in medieval centuries, generally shrewd supporters of the swingent changes in monarchs and state religions and the leading-wealth family of the far North East (or just North East as domestically known) of England; their castles then coalfields shored up their wealth further but today the family has modest wealth compared to many of those with much Central London property. Most of their former wealth belongs to new owners including the National Trust.
