English: Lou Gehrig's house at 5204 Delafield Avenue in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. This house is adjacent to the east side of the Henry Hudson Parkway. Gehrig moved to this house from New Rochelle in order to satisfy a residency requirement for Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia's appointment as New York City Parole Commissioner. Gehrig died in the house at 10:10 p.m. on June 2, 1941. The house is marked by a plaque indicating that Gehrig lived there. |
