Louise-Adelaïde de Bourbon-Conti (1696-1750) était la seconde fille de François-Louis de Bourbon, surnommé le Grand Conti, et de Marie-Thérèse de Bourbon-Condé. Une autre version de ce tableau, rectangulaire, se trouve au Musée du Château de Versailles.
